Who inspired you to make music?
Serge Gainsbourg and David Bowie are two artists that the more I found about them, the more they inspired me to write my own music. They created unique stories with their music, and never stuck to just one genre. Throughout their careers they remained true to their craft, evolving and adapting as time passed.
What is your creative process like? Do you start with lyrics? Instruments? Concept?
I start with the concept first, and the words or lines come after. Once the idea is somewhat concrete, we start with the instrumental track and go back and forth refining the song from there.
What do you feel is the best song you have released/written and why?
I feel ‘Growin Addiction’ is my best song, because it blends my two worlds of fashion and music so well. It feels like home to me whenever I hear it!
What is the best advice you’ve been given?
To stick true to yourself. There are always people who feel they know what’s best and want you to follow the exact footsteps of other artists. As artists we are not here to replace other artists, but to hopefully inspire with our own unique interpretation of art.
If you could be any kind of cookie, what would it be and why? (Most important question)
I don’t know what they are called, but a sugar cookie with sea salt chocolate and caramel chunks. I’m sweet, but full of surprises!
How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
It’s allowed me to work as an indie artist in control of my own music and brand.
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
Monetization. We pour our heart, souls, and money into our work, but the return from streaming services can barely cover a coffee from Starbucks.
What is the most useless talent you have?
I have the ability to fall asleep instantly when it’s not convenient.
When you’re done with music, what do you want people to think when they talk about you and your work?
That I helped them dream.
What is your most recent project/upcoming
I’m working on my new album; it’ll be released later this year.
