Who inspired you to make music?

I’d have to say at the beginning it was my Dad. He is a huge music lover, with a very eclectic taste. He introduced me to the greats, The Beatles, Elvis, Johnny Cash, Hendrix, Pink Floyd and Iron Maiden. I remember fondly borrowing his cassette tapes and being totally inspired. When I was 15 my parents bought me my first guitar, I then discovered bands like Nirvana, Bush, Silverchair, Biffy Clyro, Incubus, Opeth and Deftones and realised that this is what I wanted to do.

What is your creative process like? Do you start with lyrics? Instruments? Concept?

I usually get a spark of inspiration away from the studio, either a stylistic concept or lyrical direction. I then put the jigsaw pieces together starting with the rhythm section and build from there.

What do you feel is the best song you have released/written and why?

I think I would have to say my most recent single ‘Relic’. I feel it captures the many sides to my versatility and brings together my main musical influences. Give it a spin, it’s available on all major platforms.

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

‘Stick to your guns’ – My Dad.

If you could be any kind of cookie, what would it be and why? (Most important question)

A home made cinnamon nutmeg cookie fresh from the oven! They say nutmegs allure is intoxicating and cinnamon heightens spiritual vibrations. Sounds like a powerful cookie!

How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?

The internet has had a very positive impact on the music business in my opinion. I remember the days before it well, hustling and grafting just to get a showcase gig, handing out flyers, ringing venues, writing to radio stations and knocking on doors of labels etc. Today you have access to people in the music business from all over the world at your finger tips. The many music platforms for upcoming and established artists is incredible. Being able to connect with fans directly and having the ability to grow an online fanbase is an amazing tool for musicians, and now with the global Pandemic, online shows are all we will have for a good while.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

I guess more transparency and simplicity in the world of Royalties. I have so many friends who are outstanding musicians putting in the work but are still yet to get paid for their art. In recent years it has gotten better in this regard so hopefully this trend will continue to increase upcoming artists awareness of revenue stream tactics.

What is the most useless talent you have?

Well my family tells me it’s my talent for remembering faces. I never forget a face. I’m a tourment when watching tv shows and movies, always shouting out things like…’Sure that’s yer man from that show’…

When you’re done with music, what do you want people to think when they talk about you and your work?

I hope people will think of my work as inspirational and still rock out to it long after I’m gone.

What is your most recent project/upcoming project?

My most recent project is my second album ‘Solar Systems’ which was release on September 30th and is available on all major platforms. Work on my third album has also begun so loads of new music in the pipeline.
